Read it left to right, top to bottom. The colour follows the story: gold and ochre while the drink is made, a single cold passage for the refusal, first light after it.

The pipeline

Story → Voice → Timing → Style lock → Cast → Stills → Clips → Assembly → QC. Nothing skips ahead: no still before the cast is approved, no clip before the stills are approved on a contact sheet.

Credits

The look came from a moodboard of Korean and French animation visual development painters: Alex Cho, Seung Uk Hong, Aveline Stokart, Bupseo Koo, Hyuna Lee, SANJI and Soonthen Cheang. Their paintings are not reproduced in these files. The whole board, credited, is in the blog post.
